Government publishes response to Taylor Review

The Government has published its response to the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices. In the response, the Government has outlined plans to provide all workers, including casual and zero-hours workers, with a range of employment rights on the first day they start work, such as entitlements to holiday pay and sick pay. All workers will also be able to request a more stable contract of employment. In addition, the response outlines a range of measures to ensure workers are paid fairly and are aware of their employment rights. There will also be stronger penalties for employers that breach employment law.
